CHEMICAL CALCULATORS
Below you will find tools for assessing the cost-in-use of diluted chemicals and a handy dilution calculator, so you know just how much chemical to add to your bottle, jug, or bucket.
To calculate the end-use cost from concentrated chemical, divide the cost per gallon by the diluted quantity. For example, let’s assume you pay $15.00 for a gallon of cleaning concentrate, and it has a 1:64 dilution (2oz/Gallon). 1:64 yields 65 gallons of product (64 gallons of water plus 1 gallon of concentrate). $15.00 ÷ 65 = $0.23 per ready to use gallon. To determine cost per quart, divide the ready to use cost by four (4 Qts/Gal).

Quick Tips
  • When diluting chemicals, it is best to fill your container with the proper amount of water, then add the concentrate. If you add the water to the concentrate, unwanted foaming may occur.
  • More can be LESS when it comes to chemical dilution. Always follow manufacturer instructions when diluting chemicals to avoid leaving surfaces sticky or slippery and unsafe.
  • Reduce human error when mixing chemicals by installing a chemical dilution station for accurate bottle and bucket fills every time.
